In June 2024, singer SHAMAN is planning to perform in Magnitogorsk at the City Day celebration. According to the data from the Russian government procurement website 'Goszakupki,' he will receive an honorarium of 15 million rubles.
The Department of Culture of Chelyabinsk Oblast has granted approval for the performance of the singer Yaroslav Dronov, also known as SHAMAN, at the celebration of the 95th anniversary of the city of Magnitogorsk. He will be paid 15 million rubles for his participation in the concert scheduled for June 2024. The necessary state procurement has already been conducted.
Members of the local VK group suggested using allocated 15 million to purchase snow cleaning vehicles, improve nutrition in local hospitals, or support children with disabilities. "The patriot should be sent to the frontlines," added Chelyabinsk Oblast residents, referring to SHAMAN.
In August, the singer performed at the City Day celebration in Vsevolozhsk, Leningrad Oblast, and was paid 8 million rubles.
SHAMAN is an alias of the singer Yaroslav Dronov. A day before the full-blown Russian invasion of Ukraine, he released a song titled 'Vstanem' ('Let’s Rise'), devoted to those who lost lives in military conflicts. Russians started citing it in obituaries and posts on the war. Several months later, Dronov recorded a song called 'Ya Russkiy' ('I Am Russian'), which has actively been used by Russian propaganda as a symbol of the war in Ukraine.
Dronov is also known for singing the Russian anthem alongside Vladimir Putin. Currently SHAMAN is touring around Russia with patriotic concerts.
