United Russia deputy Alexander Khinshtein filed a complaint with the police and the Prosecutor General's Office against Samara official Vera Shcherbacheva. She published Alexei Navalny’s investigations on Vladimir Putin and other top state officials, and also went to the United States to give birth. On November 9, Khinshtein wrote a Telegram post where he referred to Shcherbacheva as a member of the “fifth column”.
The State Duma deputy Alexander Khinshtein called Vera Shcherbacheva, the head of the External Relations Department of the Samara Region Governor, a representative of the “fifth column”. Khinstein posted screenshots of her Facebook* posts, where the woman shared videos of Alexey Navalny’s team on Vladimir Putin, Dmitry Medvedev, Sergei Lavrov, and Dmitry Peskov. He called the videos “‘investigations’ with fake accusations against the top state officials”.
The State Duma deputy filed a report to the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Prosecutor General's Office. He asked to check whether Shcherbacheva had informed the authorities on the American citizenship of her children. According to Khinshtein, in 2014, the official flew to the United States to give birth.

Earlier, after Khinshtein's denunciation, Tatiana Mrdulyash was dismissed from her position as the Minister of Culture of the Samara Region. The United Russia member accused her of treason for the attempt to remove the symbols of the war in Ukraine from the facade of the Samara Opera and Ballet Theatre.
In addition, Governor Dmitry Azarov failed to get an approval on the expansion of the powers of his deputy Viktor Kudryashov. Khinshtein previously wrote about Kudryashov’s son, who moved to Georgia.
