The police in Makhachkala have not allowed a rally in support of the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip. The event was reported by the "Gorets" Telegram channel on October 17th.
On October 17th, a crowd gathered in front of the Dagestan’s government building. As the "Gorets" Telegram channel reported they were planning to hold an action in solidarity with the people of Palestine.
Police squads had been dispatched to the square to secure control of the situation. Later, “Gorets” reported that the police had dispersed the rally.
On October 7, the terrorist organization Hamas, which controls the Gaza Strip, attacked Israel, prompting Israel to start a military operation. According to the latest information, the number of Israeli people who died in the attack has exceeded 1,400, with 4,000 injured. Palestinian authorities reported 3,000 deaths as a result of the conflict, with the injured reaching 11,000.
Following the outbreak of the conflict, spontaneous memorials to the victims of the Hamas attack appeared in many cities in Russia. In Kaliningrad, the police did not allow an Israeli flag at the memorial claiming that “the flag of Isreal is like the flag of Ukraine” as both states “receive assistance from NATO.”
