Rally against merger of the Ministry of Industry and the Ministry of Natural Resources of Komi will be held on December 11 at the Theater Square in Syktyvkar. Organizers reported about it in "Komi Environmentalists" group of "VKontakte" on December 5. The action was agreed in the city administration.
The rally will be held from 13 to 14 hours. In response, the mayor's office officials reminded that limiting occupancy of such events in theaters, cinemas and other entertainment buildings is one person per square meter, while near office buildings and on sidewalks – 1.5 people per square meter.
More than 400 people supported the idea of the rally in a poll of "Komi Environmentalists". Just over 130 people responded that the decision to merge the ministries was right or they did not care.
October 17, head of Komi Sergey Gaplikov signed a decree merging of the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Transport with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection. Social activists and environmentalists have opposed this decision and appealed to the President of Russia Vladimir Putin, Minister of Natural Resources of Russia Sergey Donskoy, head of Komi Gaplikov and State Council of Komi. "Silver Taiga" regional non-profit foundation also appealed to the head of Komi.
Civil activists have created a petition demanding to return the Ministry of Natural Resources on change.org website. It was signed by more than 56 thousand people.
Pickets and rallies took place in different areas of Komi. For example, in Izhma, Ust-Usa and Mutny Materik. In Syktyvkar, Nina Ananina received an administrative fine for picket near the building of the Administration of the head of Komi.
November 15, civil activists met with members of government, but did not agree.
November 30, civil activists appealed to the republican prosecutor's office with a statement about the inadmissibility of the merger of ministries.
