On October 15, about 25 volunteers supported an international action against using of animal fur for clothing in Ivanovo.
Two-hour action took place in the central part of the city, it was organized by the creator of the first ethical fur store in the Ivanovo region Irina Gruzdeva. Animal defenders collected donations to the shelter for homeless animals "May Day". About 30 people donated, including Ivanov's head Vladimir Sharipov, who gave a thousand rubles. In total, activists collected about 3 thousand rubles and 10 kg of animal feed.
"I think that such actions should be carried out as often as possible," student Ekaterina Loskutova said. "I really love animals and I'm ready to defend their rights with great enthusiasm. After all, animals can not stand up for themselves, they are not even asked if they want to be killed for someone's fur coat or not. Even the smallest life is worth fighting for."
A fox Jerry, saved by Anastasia Zholobova, became a symbol of the action in Ivanovo. She bought it on a fur farm, when it was one month old.
"Animals are not clothes" (formerly "Anti-fur march") is held in Russia since 2013. In 2016, the action was supported in 60 cities, including Nadym, Nizhny Tagil, Surgut, Syktyvkar, Noyabrsk.
