In the morning of October 26, right before the all-Russian premiere of the movie "Matilda" directed by Alexei Uchitel, an unidentified man broke windows of the Kirov cinema "Colosseum" with a mount. This information was reported by "Pervoistochnik" with reference to the management of the cinema.

According to the staff of "Colosseum", the bearded man held a prayer book in his hands, which he took out before starting the pogrom. "Rosbalt" found out that the attacker was a member of the old-believing community of Kirov. He is already detained by the police. The man told reporters that he acted "in defense of St. Nicholas II" and wanted to stop the film's release. He promised that if he did not stop the movie, then "the others will".

Directorate of the cinema promised to sсreen "Matilda" and ensure safety of the audience.

In September unknown people distributed leaflets with the text "Matilda is a blasphemy and insanity... Father the Tsar, forgive!" in Kirov.

The film "Matilda" by Alexei Uchitel is dedicated to the affair of the last Russian emperor Nikolai Romanov and the ballerina Matilda Kshesinskaya. Director Andrei Zvyagintsev considers this relationship a historical fact.

In September representatives of the "Christian state — holy Rus’", tried to fire the Yaroslavl cultural center "Neftyanik". The attackers were detained.
