At the Usinsk Oilfield in Komi, an excavator hit an oil pipeline with a bucket during construction work, causing an oil spill. The department’s press office reports that the Prosecutor's office is conducting an inspection, the volume of spilled oil is being specified.

On the morning of September 24, a working oil-gathering main was damaged by an excavator during the construction of an oil collector. The oil spill is being removed so that the feedstock does not get into water bodies.

On August 3, about 7 tons of petroleum products were spilled due to the LUKOIL-Usinskneftegaz’s pipeline break. A worker of the contractor damaged an operative oil pipeline when dismantling the old one.

At the end of July, eco-activists from the Save Pechora Committee suspected LUKOIL-Komi of destroying the forest near oil wells in the Sosnogorsk District. Environmental defenders believe that the plants could have died due to local water spill. Oilfield workers denied their involvement in what had happened.
