Police officers gave Yulia Posevkina, the Communist Party candidate for the State Council of the Komi Republic, a warning about the inadmissibility of unauthorized actions. She told 7x7 about it.
According to Posevkina, the police visited her at home at 7:30AM:
— For some reason, they decided that I was going to organize a rally on Stefanovskaya Square, so they warned me not to do it. This is not true; I have never organized a rally in my life.
On August 6, the Electoral Commission of the Komi Republic is to make a decision whether to refuse to register Oleg Mikhailov, a deputy from the Communist Party, for the election of the Head of the State Council or not. As previously reported by 7x7, he failed to pass the municipal filter. Anonymous Telegram channels had reported on the plans of communist’s supporters to hold a rally in support of him.
In addition to Oleg Mikhailov, acting Head of the Republic Vladimir Uyba, entrepreneur and municipal deputy of Usinsk from the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia Andrey Nikitin, Head of the Komi Rugby Union Viktor Betekhtin from the Green Alternative Party, and member of the Communist Party of Social Justice (CPSU) Sergey Ponomarev are applying for the post of Head of Komi.
Sergey Gaplikov, the previous Governor of Komi, who headed the Republic since 2015, resigned in April this year. Early elections of the Head of the Komi Republic are scheduled for September 13.
