The police have drawn up an administrative report against Sofia Krapotkina, the producer of the 7x7 Media Platform, for participating in a one-person picket in support of Svetlana Prokopyeva, a journalist from Pskov who was convicted of justifying terrorism.

On July 3, police detained Sofia Krapotkina, Maxim Polyakov, the deputy editor-in-chief of 7x7, and journalists from several other media near the FSB building in Lubyanka. They were holding one-person pickets there with posters saying, "No prison terms for words. Close the case of Svetlana Prokopyeva."

The report against Krapotkina was drawn up under Part 5 of Article 20.2 of the Administrative Code on violation of the established procedure for conducting picketing. It carries a fine from 10 thousand to 20 thousand rubles or community service for up to 40 hours. Maxim Polyakov was obliged to come to the police on July 14, so that he could be reported.

Journalist Svetlana Prokopyeva from Pskov was fined for half a million rubles on July 6 in the case of justifying terrorism. On the same day, the Investigative Committee of Russia opened a criminal case against Pyotr Verzilov, the publisher of Mediazona, for failing to inform that he had a Canadian passport.

On the next day, July 7, FSB officers detained Ivan Safronov, a former journalist of Kommersant and Vedomosti, in Moscow on charges of treason. The apartment of his former colleague, editor-in-chief of the Kholod (‘Cold’) Media Taisiya Bekbulatova, was house-checked.
