Activists from the town of Alexandrov, Vladimir Oblast, organized a duty at the entrance to the town dump and did not let cars with waste from Moscow Oblast in. A group of opponents of the import of waste from Moscow in Alexandrov reported this on February 24.
It is seen on the video published by activists, that since February 22, they stopped and did not let in all the cars with waste and made it clear (with the help of a STSI inspector) where each car had been loaded with waste. Household waste from Vladimir Oblast was allowed to the dump, while cars with way-bills from Moscow Oblast remained at the entrance. Activists referred to the order of the Governor Vladimir Sipyagin who had banned the import of waste from other regions.
Opponents of the import of waste from Moscow organized round-the-clock duty at the entrance to the dump in groups of 15 to 60 people.
Vladimir Sipyagin, the governor of Vladimir Oblast, adjusted the waste management scheme in the region and banned the import of waste from other regions late in December 2019. Moscow-based Ecoline group of companies and its subsidiary Ekoresurs filed a lawsuit against the regional administration on the ban of waste import (the lawsuit will be considered on March 4).
Despite the regional ban, Moscow garbage continued to be imported into the region. On February 18, the Vladimir Prosecutor's office passed on a recommendation to Ekoresurs for the import of household waste from other regions. The company appealed the ban to the regional Commercial Court.
Moscow authorities planned to export 9 million tons of waste to Vladimir Oblast from 2020 to 2030 including 666 thousand tons this year.
