Civil activists held a series of single pickets in Petrozavodsk against the illegal construction of "Nevsky Passage". On February 19, six activists stood with posters next to the government building of Karelia in the center of Petrozavodsk, a «7x7» correspondent reported from the spot.

According to the activists, they came out to support the old people — residents of the house with the trade extension "Nevsky Passage". On the posters, the activists wrote: "The Nevsky Passage" is lawlessness! The power you chose does not work", "The head gave up on the law — I will give up on the elections".

"Pickets that we hold are timed to the fact that for almost four years the court decision for the demolition of "Nevsky Passage" has not been executed. The main culprit, we believe, is on my poster," said Karelian blogger Alexey Trunov.

Bailiffs can not force the owners of "Nevsky Passage" to execute a court decision on the demolition of the extension since 2014. During this time, the residents of the house, among them pensioners and veterans of the Great Patriotic War, went on a hunger strike for several times, refused of veterans' medals, held single pickets and made a confrontation on the roof of "Nevsky Passage".

At the end of January, the Petrozavodsk City Court decided to enforce compensation from the owners of the extension for moral harm in favor of residents of the house Mikhail Goshkiev and Olga Isayeva. At the same meeting, another resident of the house, Nikolai Bakinov was taken to the ambulance. Later Nikolai Bakinov, Mikhail Goshkiev and Vladimir Dmetsov recorded a video message in which they asked Russian citizens to support them.

On February 20, former journalist Dmitry Muratov, the former editor-in-chief of "Novaya Gazeta", plans to meet with the residents of the house with an illegal extension.
