In May 2019, a resident of Bryansk was fined for a video with a dance in front of the Hill of Immortality (a monument to those killed during the Great Patriotic war) under the article for insulting the authorities. On June 26, the decision of the court was found by human rights defender Pavel Chikov.
On May 29, the Sovietsky District Court of Bryansk fined local resident Chervyakova for 30 thousand rubles. She pleaded guilty to insulting the authorities, but explained that she liked dancing, chose a beautiful background for the video, and actually had no criminal intent.
Human rights activist Chikov, who supports all those accused of disrespect for the government, commented on the decision of the court in his Telegram-channel:
«Unfortunately, the woman could not be found. And of course, the police and the courts of Bryansk opened new portals in otherworldly law.»
According to judge Marina Rasskazova, the dance «is expressed in an indecent form, insulting human dignity and public morality, and forms a clear disrespect for society, while the Hill of Immortality is an object of cultural heritage of regional significance.»
The woman took the video on April 28 and posted it on Instagram on April 29. It was attached to the case as proof of guilt.
In Russia, 10 more people are involved into administrative cases about insulting the authorities. Most often Russians insult the President on vk.com. They are being fined for 30 thousand rubles.
