Correspondents of TV-channel "Russia" and portal "Izvestia" attended the opening of the information center of the landfill developer — the company "Technopark" — at the railway station of Shies in Lensky District of Arkhangelsk Oblast. The video of the meeting of media workers and activists was published by online edition SOTA.Vision on June 10.

Correspondents talked to activists that are watching the landfill. The journalist of "Izvestia" asked eco-activists why they were protesting if there were no active construction. The eco-activists said that the construction had been stopped right before the arrival of the federal journalists.

Another correspondent with the microphone of TV-channel "Russia" said that the landfill would rally the nation. When an activist asked why it was necessary to take Moscow garbage to Arkhangelsk Oblast, a thousand miles away, the journalist replied:

— Well, because Russia is one country and we are all here... Roughly speaking, when entire villages were flooded during the Bratsk Hydroelectric Power Station’s construction, and the whole country had electricity — it was OK.

The correspondent of "7x7 could not identify the correspondent of the channel.

Workers of federal mass media came to the opening of the information center of company "Technopark". The center was created to distribute information about the construction of "Ecotechnopark Shies".

The garbage landfill for Moscow and Moscow Oblast began to be built in summer 2018 near the railway station of Shies in Arkhangelsk Oblast on the border with the Republic of Komi. Residents of the two regions are opposing the landfill construction and have organized a camp near the station.

The Bratsk HPS on the Angara River in Siberia began to be built in 1954. This is one of the largest stations in Russia. Bratsk reservoir near the station is the largest artificial reservoir in the world, when it was created, many settlements were flooded.
