Petrozavodsk police detained a minor volunteer of Navalny’s headquarters

On December 14, volunteer of Petrozavodsk headquarters of Aleksey Navalny Daniil Smetansky was detained by police officers during school lessons.

"Daniil is imputed to Article 20.3 of the Administrative Code ["Propaganda or Public Display of Nazi Attributes or Symbols"]. They found a video with a Nazi symbolism on his page in the social network. However, it is no longer on his page. So, they spied. He faces a fine of two thousand rubles; the case, as we know, will be considered by the commission on the affairs of minors," said Artem Kornyshov, coordinator of Navalny's headquarters in Petrozavodsk. "Daniil has already been consulted by our lawyers."

Daniil spent about an hour in the police department; according to «7x7», he was interrogated in the presence of a school psychologist. At the time of publication, Daniil was released.

Headquarters associate the detention of Smetansky with his volunteer work. According to Kornyshov, Daniil is his second assistant, but he was not officially a staff member, since he will turn 18 on December 15.

The detained activist participated in the recent pickets in Petrozavodsk in support of the arrested Leonid Volkov, Navalny’s team-mate.
