Kaluga pupils asked officials to authorize rally against corruption in the city center Horizontal Russia 0

The Kaluga government has not authorized a rally on problems in the field of education of the region and corruption in educational institutions on May 14 at the Theater Square. The initiative youth group, which included pupils, suggested that the officials postpone the meeting time, but not change the place. This was reported on May 5 by the member of the initiative group Elena Timofeeva.

'We asked the officials who and when also applied, and offered to coordinate our event at the Theater Square of Kaluga in any free time on May 14. We asked to provide any other place in the central part of the city, if the site was occupied for the whole day,' Timofeeva said.

If the administration does not agree on these options, activists will gather in the park at the Yachen reservoir. Here you can hold public events with the number of participants up to 150 people without approval.

On May 4, officials did not authorized a site at Kaluga Theater Square at 14:00 to hold a rally on problems in education and corruption in educational institutions. The reason for the refusal was another event, authorized earlier. According to he pupil of lyceum No. 36 Alexander Vasilyev, he was the first who came to the city council on May 2 to give notice of the rally, and other applicants could not manage to do it before him.

On May 2, «7x7» published an audio recording and decoding of Vasilyev's conversation with an official from the regional Ministry of Education, who discouraged the pupil from organizing an action and compared pupils who supported Aleksei Navalny's policy with "food for powder". The Ministry of Education of the Kaluga region considered such a conversation quite correct and opposed the involvement of pupils in politics.
