Activist Tatyana Ivanova sent a request to the presidential administration to find out whether the Komi police guarded the posters depicting President Vladimir Putin. According to the information received, the zones with pre-election banners were assigned to police patrols "in order to identify and suppress administrative violations, spoilage and destruction."

At the request of Ivanova, the presidential administration appealed to the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Komi. 37 agitational (informational) banners had been installed in Syktyvkar.

The activist is sure that the police only guard banners with Putin. She complained to the Syktyvkar City Court, but it rejected her appeal. After that Ivanova appealed to the Supreme Court.

In early February, Tatyana Ivanova wrote that the police "defended banners of Vladimir Putin from the people's love."

Blogger Vasily Ivanov from Chuvashia was detained on the suspicion of spoiling the pre-election banner of the Central Election Commission. His outer clothing and a set of winter tires were seized for examination.
