On January 22, the Yoshkar-Ola city court fined Tatyana Kolesnikova 20 thousand rubles; she was accused of using violence against the police officer Sergei Ilyin.

According to the investigation, the accused threw the sneaker into his head and bit him. This happened after Ilyin, forcefully, having caused pain, took off Kolesnikova's sneakers. The policeman noticed that the prisoner was in a cell in laced shoes, which is prohibited.

Judge Svetlana Mayorova pleaded guilty to Kolesnikova. She said that the verdict was based on the testimony of the injured police officer Ilyin and his four colleagues, as well as two investigators and two emergency doctors. The judge reacted critically to the testimony of the accused, she considered that Kolesnikova was trying to evade responsibility.

Tatyana Kolesnikova did not agree with the court decision, she intends to appeal it.

Lawyer of the human rights organization "Public Verdict" Dmitry Yalikov said that the verification of Kolesnikova's report on the crime against her has not been conducted for five months already. Immediately after the incident in the police station she appealed to the investigative committee. She believes that the police used excessive force against her. As proof, Tatyana is ready to provide the results of a medical examination that recorded her abrasions after contacting the Ministry of Internal Affairs. According to Yalikov, he is preparing an appeal to the European Court of Human Rights in case of refusals in the courts of Mari El.

This case had been considered since October 6, 2017. 11 meetings were held, at which 10 witnesses (policemen, investigators, ambulance doctors, administratively detained citizens, who were in the same cell as Kolesnikova) spoke. On the second meeting, the judge closed the trial for journalists and listeners.

This was requested by the prosecutor and the injured employee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Sergei Ilyin found threats in his address in the comments to the publication on «7x7» and filed an application to the Investigative Committee.

In early June 2017, Tatyana Kolesnikova was detained for failing to comply with the lawful demands of police officers.
